This is list of most typical Rome attractions. In the future we will try to create more specific lists of things to do for visitors with kids, art and museum lovers, honeymooners, etc.

Vatican City1. One of the most favorite things to do in Rome for most people is to visit Vatican City, and this is especially true for visitors of the Catholic faith. This is probably one of the most visited places in whole Italy. Vatican City features numerous historic, religious and cultural attractions and right now it is a home of Pope Benedict XVI at the Vatican Palace. Of course you may not be granted an audience with the Pope, but visiting the Vatican City is a must for people traveling to Rome. One of the best places to visit are the Vatican Museums. These include the world-famous Sistine Chapel as well as Raphael’s Rooms. While at the Sistine Chapel visitors can enjoy the work of the finest artists of the 15th and 16th century. While visiting Raphael’s Rooms, guests will enjoy the beautifully decorated rooms of the apartments of Pope Julius II.

This area is thought to be the sight of some of the first settlements since archaic houses from the 10th century B.C. have been found. While not all parts of Palatine Hill are accessible to tourists, they may still enjoy visiting the Imperial Palaces, House of Livia as well as the Farnese Gardens.

You can schedule a guided tour or tour it on your own but do not fall prey of rather expensive “photo opportunities” with Roman legionaries hanging around this attraction.

10. The Trevi Fountain is one of the top attractions in Rome, and after viewing this artwork it is easy to see why. This is one of the most famous fountains in Rome, and the legend says that if a coin is tossed into the fountain then you will return to Rome again.
